Hôtel Barrière Le Grand Hôtel Enghien-les-bains
Paris
This is the best hotel in Northern Brittany in many people’s opinion. The majestic five-star Grand Hotel Barriere is perfectly situated overlooking St Malo bay and the seafront of Dinard and is close to the restaurants, bars, casino and sandy beaches. There are 90 rooms and suites at the hotel which are spacious, bright and decorated in a typical style. The rooms have modern facilities with many having panoramic views to the sea, the countryside or the hotel's gardens. There are a range of facilities at this hotel and include a Spa, fitness centre, heated indoor swimming pool, gastronomic restaurant and bar. There are four great golf courses nearby including the historic links at Dinard and the Challenge Tour course at Val Andre, plus St Malo and Les Ormes – all very good golf courses. Elsewhere you can explore the rugged coastline, head inland to the old town of Dinan or just hop on the boat across the bay to the old walled town of St Malo.

About The Area
Cota is a peaceful base for a golf holiday on the Bogotá Savannah, combining championship golf with green countryside and convenient access to Colombia’s capital. El Dorado International Airport is approximately 21 kilometres away by road, although journey times can increase considerably with Bogotá’s traffic. Private transfers are the easiest option when travelling with golf clubs.
The main attraction is Pueblo Viejo Country Club, located on the Suba–Cota road. The club offers an 18-hole, par-72 golf course alongside a nine-hole par-three course, putting green and modern practice facilities. Mature trees, carefully positioned bunkers, water hazards and attractive mountain views create a strategic parkland experience that suits golfers who enjoy thoughtful course management.
Pueblo Viejo has also staged major national tournaments, including the Colombian Open, underlining its position among the Bogotá region’s leading golf venues. The club is private and member-focused, so guest access, tee times, caddies and any handicap requirements should be organised before travelling through an authorised operator or reciprocal club arrangement.
Away from golf, Cota has a relaxed centre built around its distinctive octagonal main square, whose design was inspired by Paris’s Place de l’Étoile. The surrounding municipality includes wetlands, farmland and Cerro Majuy, an area closely connected with Cota’s Muisca community and cultural heritage.
Bogotá’s museums, restaurants and historic neighbourhoods remain within reach, while the remarkable Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá makes an excellent longer excursion. Built within a former underground salt mine, it is one of Cundinamarca’s most unusual attractions.
Cota works best as part of a carefully organised Bogotá golf itinerary, combining pre-arranged private-club golf with cultural sightseeing and quieter evenings outside the capital.
