About The Area

Brignoles is a lovely base for golfers who want a Provence golf holiday with sunshine, countryside and a more authentic French feel than the busy coastal resorts. Set in the heart of Provence Verte, the town is surrounded by vineyards, wooded hills, medieval villages and classic Provençal scenery, while still being within reach of the French Riviera, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Toulon. Provence Verte describes the region as the “green heart of Provence”, with 43 villages, unspoilt nature and a setting away from the busiest seaside crowds.

The main golfing highlight is Barbaroux Golf, Hotel & Spa, close to Brignoles. This 18-hole course sits in a sunny green valley and is known for being technical, strategic and beautifully natural, with hotel, spa, restaurant and clubhouse facilities beside the greens. It is a strong choice for golfers who like the idea of staying close to the course while still having Provençal towns and villages nearby.

For extra variety, Golf Sainte Baume in Nans-les-Pins is another excellent option within the wider region. Its 18-hole, par-72 course measures 5,982 metres and plays through rolling ground, pine trees, streams and wild scrubland at the foot of the Sainte Baume mountains.

Away from golf, Brignoles is ideal for vineyard visits, local markets, hilltop villages, long lunches and relaxed exploring. For UK golfers, it works brilliantly as part of a tailor-made South of France golf break, combining great-value inland Provence, quality golf and easy access to the coast.
