Tewkesbury Park Golf Course
Tewkesbury
Tewkesbury Park’s Deerpark Course is an enjoyable 18-hole parkland layout set across 164 acres of rolling Gloucestershire countryside, with panoramic views towards the Cotswold Hills, Malverns and historic Tewkesbury. Designed by respected English golf architect Frank Pennink, the course combines mature woodland, natural elevation changes and strategically placed hazards to create a test that rewards thoughtful positioning without becoming overly punishing for higher handicappers.
The current layout plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,554 yards, with different teeing options making it suitable for societies, couples and mixed-ability golf groups. Mature trees provide much of the strategic challenge, asking golfers to find the correct sections of the fairways to open up approaches into the greens. The course’s free-draining greens, short-cut rough and relatively gentle terrain also help keep play moving and allow golf for much of the year.
Golfers looking to sharpen their game can use the practice range, putting green and nine-hole par-three Acorn Course, while club and buggy hire are available. No.19 Café & Bar provides a relaxed spot for post-round food and drinks.
With Tewkesbury Park Hotel directly alongside the fairways, the Deerpark is particularly convenient for a Cotswolds golf break. Groups wanting additional variety can also add nearby Puckrup Hall, Brickhampton Court and Cleeve Hill, all within roughly 11 km.
Its combination of attractive scenery, playable course design and straightforward stay-and-play set-up makes Tewkesbury Park a strong choice for golfers wanting a relaxed golf break in Gloucestershire.
